Checked Baggage For Air Canada*
Previous Baggage Allowance: traveling before July 15, 2008 or had made reservation before May 15, 2008. Customers are allowed to check the following amounts of luggage free of charge:

* No piece may exceed a weight of 70lb or linear dimensions (length + width + height) of 115 in or a length of 80 in. For baggage exceeding these limits, please refer to Excess Baggage Fees.
** Linear dimensions = length + width + height. Garment bags may exceed these linear dimensions, though the maximum number and weight restrictions still apply.

New Baggage Allowance: applies to customers with a reservation made on or after May 15, 2008 for travel on or after July 15, 2008. Customers are allowed to check the following amounts of luggage free of charge:

** Garment bags may exceed these linear dimensions, though the maximum number and weight restrictions still apply.
*** Baggage allowance for customers who have purchased Tango and Tango Plus fares and are travelling within Canada and between Canada and continental U.S. including Hawaii.
**** Baggage allowance for customers who have purchased Latitude fares and are travelling within Canada and between Canada and continental U.S. including Hawaii. Also applies to customers who have purchased any Economy fares and are travelling to a destination outside Canada and continental U.S. including Hawaii.

For baggage exceeding these limits, please refer to Excess Baggage.
No bags exceeding 70lb in weight or 115in in linear dimensions will be accepted as checked baggage. Please contact Air Canada Cargo for handling.
Customers who have opted out of the checked baggage allowance are not entitled to check any bags for free. Customers wishing to opt back in to check baggage will be charged $50 per direction.
